ZWAANSWYK

Zwaanswyk is residential suburb of Cape Town, South Africa, which is situated on the foothills of the Constantiaberg. The suburb is bordered by, Steenberg and Kirstenhof to the South, Bergvliet to the East, Constantia to the North and the SAFCOL pine tree plantations against the mountain to the West. Constantia is just a 5 minutes' drive from the elite residential area of Zwaanswyk which is conveniently situated to close to many of the area's fine restaurants, bars, two leading golf courses, (Steenberg and Westlake), and modern shopping facilities.

Shopping

The Blue Route Mall is the most central shopping experience in Tokai, as well as the offering the most in terms of options, boasting large-name retailers as well as smaller, bespoke stores and a cinema. There are a number of smaller centres offering a wide range of items, including sports and outdoor equipment and hardware and gardening.

Restaurants and Bars

Blue Route Mall has a number of coffee shops and wonderful lunchtime options, while the neighbouring areas of Steenberg and Constantia boast serious value in terms of restaurants and bars.

The neighbouring Steenberg Golf Estate is home to Bistro 1682 and Catharina's, while other fine dining venues like the Chef's Kitchen at Beau Constantia and La Colombe at Silvermist Estate are also not too far to travel. The Steenberg Village Centre is also home to some local favourites such as Jake's, Basilico and the Cape Town Fish Market. The Constantia Wine Route is also world class with older farms like Groot - and Klein - Constantia combining with 'younger' estates like Constantia Glen and Eagle's Nest to create an incredible variety of experiences, including cellar tours, pairings and signature tastings. It could be argued, that outside of the city bowl, Constantia may boast some of the most impressive eateries and wine experiences in Cape Town.

Schools

Kirstenhof Primary is a very well-regarded school, while Reddam House Constantia, based in nearby Steenberg, caters for children in pre-primary all the way up to Grade 12, is close by. The Constantia Waldorf School - around 10-15 minutes by car - is another great option, with pre-primary to Grade 12 classes offered.

Hospitals

The Melomed Tokai Private Hospital is a five-minute drive from Nieuwe Steenberg, while the Tokai Medicross is located right by Blue Route Mall, which is an additional five minutes by car. The Constantiaberg Mediclinic is a world class facility, offering 24/7 care and is around 15-20 minutes by car.
